The rank is denoted by the four silver stars on the front of the cap and also on the epaulettes of both the tunic and the trench coat, also to be noted is the national emblem on the cap it is that of an eagle with outstretched wings,(air force and navy eagles differ slightly) this emblem will be found on all polish army headdress and the unit is denoted by colour of the cap band, but this practice is not usually used with service dress, associated mainly with ceremonial and combat dress and if a beret is worn, it would be that of the unit colour with corresponding badge backing
